I saw Dr. Lopp for my first visit at this dental office. I needed a crown on one of my teeth. He was very thorough in explaining everything about my dental needs. He was friendly and communicative. The crown fits so naturally in my mouth that I didn't even notice I had work done. I definitely will be going back to this dentist.

Amazing ,honest ,and friendly professional staff!!! I hadn't been to the dentist in years and got xrays done yesterday then today 2/2/24 went back for a cleaning done by Michelle who did a great thorough job and deserves 5 star rating! Would highly recommend Oceanside Dental the whole staff is great! Really thankful and grateful I found them! Keep up the great work!🙏✝️🙏

TL;DR: Front desk is good. Clean and comfortable facility. See Dr. Karimi if possible. Avoid Dr. Lopp.I was a patient here for years and had great experiences with Dr. Hoang and Dr. Karimi. Unfortunately, Dr. Lopp is now the full-time dentist. Dr. Hoang is only available once a month for complex root canals and Dr. Karimi only on Mondays.During my first appointment with Dr. Lopp, he told me I needed multiple crowns, which surprised me, but I agreed. At my next appointment, he quickly performed multiple fillings, and did not stop when I raised my hand, instead telling me he'll be done soon. I raised it as I felt sensitivity/pain when he worked on my bottom tooth, which I didn't know would be a deep filling.Following the filling, I had severe tooth and jaw pain. I saw three other dentists due to it, and this was the consensus-Dr. Lopp’s fillings are just okay. One dentist joked that though serviceable, she wouldn't have let me leave like that.I developed pulpitis from the deep filling. I now know that's a risk, would've loved a heads up. Only fix is a time and NSAIDs, or root canal if you're unlucky.I don’t need crowns. One dentist said it might be a matter of opinion, but wouldn’t recommend them unless I really wanted to do it.It’s been a little over a month at the time of this writing, and I still can’t chew or floss on that side due to the sensitivity/pain. Currently facing a root canal to address it. At least I didn't get the crowns lol.I highly recommend checking Dr. Lopp’s reviews on other sites, his highest rating is 2.5 stars. If I had known, I would have cancelled my appointment or at least spoken up more at the time. Lesson learned, don’t blindly trust just because they're at your usual practice.

I wish I could rate this place zero stars.I went here due to being assigned this office by California Dental Network. I was then told I needed some procedures done and then when I saw how much they wanted to charge me I asked my insurance for the charge amounts for those specific codes, my insurance sent the correct amounts that they should be charging and they still were adamant on wanting to up charge me, I had to ask the office manager Jessica to assist to no avail since I just ended up getting a letter that they required a signature for and therefore I had to go pick it up at the Post office, where they informed me they were essentially kicking me out of their office. I made sure to not raise my voice at their office when dealing with this very stressful ordeal as well as informed them of all the steps I partook in to make sure I was being charge the correct amount. Instead they double downed on their narrative and never apologized or followed up and instead told me to go to another dental office. Well I’m glad they told me to go elsewhere because I informed the new dental office about this ordeal and they informed me that the didn’t understand why this office was charging so much and assured me I wouldn’t be dealing with that kind of situation in their office. I would double check if you go here that they aren’t over charging you. They have big egos and didn’t show a growth mindset on wanting to learn about other insurances and their policies and wanted to continue what they thought was right even when speaking to CALIFORNIA DENTAL NETWORK.
