I picked this dentist mainly because they were near to where I live, but I’m glad I did. I had my first appointment with them today after having not been to the dentist in many years. Everyone I interacted with was genuinely very kind, calm and respectful. I have absolutely nothing to say that could have made my first experience with them better.

I came in multiple times now as the driver for someone having tooth work. The last two appointments got started late, but I was especially blown away by the very last appointment where we were booked in as a first case at 7am but the appointment didn’t start until an hour later at 8. The front desk didn’t give us a heads up of what was going on, so at 7:15 I had to ask what we were waiting for. The receptionist went to collaborate with the other staff in the back and came back and told us that the doctor was stuck in traffic. Now for a 7am appointment, being stuck in traffic until 8am is highly unlikely. I had driven 45 minutes myself and there were not many cars on the road.Additionally, when the doctor came in, he came in from the back and never once apologized for being late.Two things that need to happen in the future: Firstly the receptionist has to be open and communicative from the beginning. Needing to ask what is happening is annoying and shouldn’t be necessary. Secondly, the doctor should absolutely apologize when he is so very late.It was truly a poor experience for the both of us.As a response to your response: “ We have reached out to our patient personally”, you have not. Either you lied, or the doctor has been late numerous times now that you have contacted the wrong patient.

I have muitple 7 + diffrent chronic illnesses, which makes dental visits a source of anxiety, and I've avoided them for three years due to past negative experiences. However, I must say that Burnaby City Dental is the most patient, considerate, knowledgeable, and understanding dental office I've ever encountered. You have completely changed my perspective on dental care.
