After he retired, we still stay with this practice and started seeing Dr Yiran. We are really disappointed by Dr Yiran’s lack of expertise, professionalism and empathy for kids. How a person could be a pediatric dentist without empathy for kids. For a relative large cavity, he mentioned all the possibilities, e.g., filling, cap and root canal, etc. At the end he did filling for the cavity. After about two months, my kid one day complained about tooth pain then I noticed the filling is off. I brought my daughter back to see Dr Yiran then he suggested tooth extraction. I asked about what he would do with the hole since the adult tooth will take about 2 years to come out. He told me nothing! Totally lack of expertise. Later we went to another practice which requires current dentist’s referral. In Dr Yiran’s referral, he blamed my daughter not being cooperative when he was filling the cavity. He even mentioned this in front of my kid! If my kid was not cooperative, how Dr. Yiran was able to keep chatting with his two assistants about his honeymoon (again and again) and all the vacation plans during the filling. Even if a kid is not cooperative, you should not blame in the face of a kid and it is your job to calm down the kid during a procedure. Totally lack of empathy and professionalism."
