As I am a Vietnam era veteran, we met at David Grant Medical Center Dental Clinic at Travis AFB Ca. He initially administered accupucture treatments for xerostomia (dry mouth) caused by extensive radiation for throat cancer. Later that year I began to experience pain in my left mandible (lower jaw). Xrays exhibited a slight shadow on a root of the rear molar which indicated an infection. Dr Kiser then performed a root canal to remove the infected area. I had always been told root canals were something to be feared due to the associated pain. In all honesty, Dr Kiser was so skilled and adept at the procedure, the only thing I would call pain was the pinch of the numbing injection! The initial pain while chewing diminished ,however it began to return. Thanks to his study and experience in hospital dentistry, he was then able to diagnose the possibility of osteoradionecrosis, a disease caused by lack of blood supply to the bone. His skill, diagnosis and referral to an oral surgeon potentially saved my life. I give Dr Kiser my highest possible recommendation!"
