Dr. Thomas A. Jacobs, as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), is qualified to provide a comprehensive range of general dental services essential for maintaining optimal oral health. These foundational services typically include thorough dental examinations, which involve a detailed assessment of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. Regular check-ups are crucial for the early detection and prevention of common dental issues such as tooth decay, gum disease, and other oral health concerns. Professional dental cleanings, performed by skilled and gentle hygienists like Rachel, as mentioned in a review, are also a cornerstone of preventive care, effectively removing plaque and tartar buildup and contributing to long-term oral health. Patients can also expect to receive education on proper oral hygiene practices tailored to their individual needs.
In addition to these essential preventive measures, Dr. Jacobs likely offers a variety of restorative dental treatments designed to repair damaged or missing teeth and restore their function and appearance. These services commonly include the placement of dental fillings to repair cavities and restore the structural integrity of affected teeth. For teeth with more extensive damage, Dr. Jacobs may provide dental crowns, which are custom-fitted coverings that encase the entire tooth, providing strength, protection, and an improved aesthetic. Dental bridges are another important restorative option, used to replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring artificial teeth to adjacent natural teeth or dental implants, helping to maintain proper bite alignment and prevent the shifting of remaining teeth.
Furthermore, Dr. Jacobs may also offer more specialized dental services depending on his areas of expertise and the capabilities of his practice. These could include periodontics, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease and other conditions affecting the supporting structures of the teeth. Endodontics, involving procedures such as root canal therapy to treat infections within the tooth's pulp and save severely damaged teeth, may also be a service provided. While not explicitly mentioned, many dentists in established practices also offer cosmetic dentistry services aimed at enhancing the appearance of their patients' smiles, such as teeth whitening, veneers, and cosmetic bonding.
Features of Dr. Jacobs's practice, highlighted in the patient reviews, include his thoroughness, honesty, and personable demeanor. Patients describe him as taking the time to explain his practice and making nervous patients feel comfortable. His commitment to being a "true and skilled professional and a leader within his trade" suggests a high standard of care and a dedication to excellence in dentistry. The staff is consistently described as friendly, efficient, and gentle, contributing to a positive overall patient experience. The mention of a follow-up call from Dr. Jacobs himself the evening after an appointment to check on the patient's well-being is a unique and highly appreciated feature, demonstrating a genuine care for his patients.
The positive experiences shared by multiple patients, including those referred by a long-time retiring dentist and those who have referred others to Dr. Jacobs, speak volumes about the quality of care and patient satisfaction at this practice. Jacobs Thomas a DDS Reviews
My first visit with Dr. Jacobs. One of the most experienced dentists in San Francisco who came highly recommended. The entire office is a class act, pleasant, clean, and professional. Mar 27, 2025 · Craig Stuart AdamsDr. Jacobs and his staff are outstanding practitioners of the art of dentistry. I was referred to Dr. Jacobs by a dear friend and I cannot thank my friend enough. Dr. Jacobs performs his dentistry with meticulous attention to detail. He is continuously monitoring the patients' comfort level and responds immediately to any concerns. If you are in need of dental work you could not do better than to see Dr. Jacobs.
Mar 13, 2025 · Terry Venegasthis man has had a mental break. i have been coming to him for years and i LOVED him at one point, he screamed into my face 3 separate times during my 8am dental work. he screamed at full volume while shoving novacane way too hard into my jaw (my face was numb and sore for a week). his assistant was wiping my tears as he shook with fury, and i made dr jacob’s stop half way through the operation. the front desk receptionist literally corralled me out and hugged me while i bawled - clearly this is a thing as no one was surprised. terrible experience, i could literally have his license taken away from this absolutely ludicrous behavior. completely ignore my first glowing review.
