Recently moved to Seattle and, obviously, had to find a new dentist. Since Gentle Gentle in Everett always took care of me my first choice was this location on Capitol Hill. Admittedly, I put off establishing care for like 9 months, but then I broke a tooth on a deceptively hard piece of teriyaki chicken! 😱 I called them the day it happened and they were able to get me in pretty early the next day. I ended up needing a crown and it was supposed to take two weeks but within a week I was back in the chair getting my new tooth! 🙌🏿 All props to Dr. Fletcher and his care team for their AMAZING bed(chair)side manner and a huge shout out to Johnathan at the front desk for his clear and consistent updates. 10/10 would recommend. 💯

I needed a tooth removed. I was scheduled the very next morning for an appointment. This was very welcomed as I had been experiencing tooth pain for the past week/week and a half. I couldn’t tolerate it any longer and was concerned about the infection spreading. I attempted to call other places prior looking at Reddit posts but I often came across long wait times or an answering machine where they told me they would get back to me within 24 hours, many didn’t. Some of these were colleges as I was looking for something affordable. Gentle dental came through and was very prompt and professional and transparent on pricing. From the time I walked in to the time I walked out with my tooth pulled, it was less than 1 hour, shocking even the receptionists. My appointment was only for x-ray (which I was unaware of), but when I told them I wanted it out immediately, Dr. Fletcher accommodated me and said we could do it right now, which gave me a sense of relief. Both X-ray and pulled tooth were within a comfortable low cost budget. As everyone else, I get nervous about dentist visits. My prior experience 2 decades prior was horrific with the dentist being highly conservative on the numbing stuff, but this one was an easy 10. I didn’t even feel my tooth pulled and they made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. It’s surprisingly a cozy environment. I didn’t have dental insurance and the cost was still affordable. $300 for a pulled tooth all and all. If I lived in Washington, I’d make these guys my main dental clinic. Can’t recommend enough. The receptionists are fun and friendly as well.

Disorganized, incompetent, and shady billing practices. As other reviewers have mentioned (see below), Gentle Dental will attempt to charge patients for claims in which the office missed timely filing requirements, or conduct fraudulent billing by charging both the patient and insurance company multiple times. It takes months to resolve and is impossible to reach this office via email or phone. Do not pay bills to this practice until you have discussed your claim with your insurance company. Better yet, stay away entirely.

Easy to make appointments, which always start on time, are most often painless, and efficient. Marley is magic and sets the standard by which I rate dental techs, and Dr Fletcher puts the gentle in dental work, explains the procedure at the start and throughout. I’ve avoided dentists most of my life, but Gentle Dental has made regular, nonjudgmental dental care a habit for me now.

I called Gentle Dental in Dec 2023 to schedule an ortho consult. The person on the phone got my details and scheduled me for a visit at this office.Upon arrival, the assistant sat me in a chair and started scanning my entire mouth without asking me anything. When the doctor arrived, he started asking me questions they usually ask a new patient, something like "What concerns do you have?" and "What are you hoping to get fixed today?". When I told him I was there for an ortho consult he was surprised and said that the orthodontist was not scheduled to work that day.I was then directed to the front desk to reschedule my appointment, which I later did via email. When talking to Johnathon at the front desk, he assured me that this was a mistake and that I would not be billed for anything.A week or so later, I receive an EOB from my insurance saying that the claim by Gentle Dental was submitted and that it was rejected, because I had done the same procedure shortly before that at my regular dentist office.So, not only did they lie to me saying that I would not be billed, but they also had the audacity to submit a claim. If I had not performed that procedure previously, this office would have been paid $161 by my insurance for a procedure they did that I did not need or ask for.I have also been getting statement mails every month from them asking me to pay. Called the office multiple times, talked to Johnathon multiple times only to hear that they would take care of it and only to see yet another mail with a statement.I have submitted a complaint with the Department of Health outlining the above details and am planning to keep submitting complaints about this business until this issue is resolved.Update 11/25:Called 206-745-6568 on 11/19. They said the practice manager was busy with the patient, was told they would call me back. Almost a week later and still no callback.
