Atlanta Center for TMJ Reviews
I went to consult with Dr. Ables a few for TMJD after my regular dentist referred me. My jaw started popping and clicking when I started college. Over time, something that was minor and easy to ignore became an everyday issue. I could not comfortably open my mouth to yawn, sing, kiss, eat. I wake up and my jaw feels like its sealed shut. The initial recommendation I was given was to simply put botox in the muscles which was a bandaid on a bullet hole. I saw no improvement. In the initial consultation I had in depth x-rays done and Dr. Ables took the time to sit down and talk through the images and my personal results. He talked through a general treatment plan with me over 30-45 minutes, as well as explaining the mechanics of TMJD itself.I’m nearing the end of my treatment now and X Rays showed significant improvement. I have little to no jaw discomfort at all. The only challenge is the patience to keep the orthotic in my mouth. It’s annoying but an easy price to pay for the progress I’ve made.My jaw pain has always felt like something I would just have to tolerate but for the first time in maybe 5 years I feel like I'm in good hands.
Jul 15, 2024 · Rachel NixUsually people dread going to their doctor appointments but I look forward to coming to this facility. Every single person you encounter in this office always has a warming smile on their face. Treating you like family and creating relationships with their clients is always a top priority to them. I’ll always recommend this place to people who need the treatment
