Avoiding excessive sugary snacks and drinks also helps prevent cavities, which can contribute to enamel erosion.
  2. Chew Sugar-Free Gum: Chewing sugar-free gum after meals can help increase saliva flow, which in turn helps neutralize acids in the mouth. I carry a pack of sugar-free gum with me to chew after meals, especially when I don’t have immediate access to water.
  3. Consider Dental Sealants: For additional protection, I asked my dentist about dental sealants, which are thin coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of molars. These sealants act as a barrier against acids and plaque, providing extra protection to your enamel.

Learning how to protect your teeth from enamel erosion has been a journey for me, and I’ve seen the benefits firsthand. It’s all about being aware of the factors that contribute to enamel wear and taking proactive steps to protect your smile.
