I recently had a root canal treatment at U Village Endodontics. The procedure itself was smooth and painless, and the staff was friendly and professional throughout. However, my experience after the treatment left me frustrated.Several months later, I received a balance due notice requesting payment for an amount that was nearly double the statement I saw on my insurance’s website. Concerned about the discrepancy, I called the office to address it. Unfortunately, the staff responsible for billing was unavailable, and it took them three weeks to return my call.When they finally reached out, they insisted I pay the balance immediately because it was past due by over 90 days. I explained my concerns about the large difference between their charges and my insurance statement and asked for a detailed breakdown from their side to compare. To my surprise, they refused to share any information until I made the payment upfront. Despite explaining my willingness to pay once I had clarity, they were firm about handing the matter to collections if I didn’t pay immediately.Feeling cornered, I reluctantly provided my credit card information. Interestingly, shortly after, they decided to check with my insurance first to avoid overcharging me. Two days later, they called back to inform me of a partial refund. While I appreciated that the matter was eventually resolved, there was no acknowledgment of their mistake or an apology for the stress caused.While I can’t fault their treatment process, I wish they had taken my concerns more seriously from the beginning.
