I will never return to Sweet Tooth Pediatric Dentistry! We are new to the Kansas City area, and I was looking for a dentist for my 3 children. This office was in a convenient location for us and seemed to have pretty good reviews, so I booked an appointment. My middle daughter who is 5 had been having some pain with one of her teeth, and I suspected she had a cavity. So, I knew going into the appointment, there was probably going to be further treatment. I never dreamed I would hear the results we did though. After the cleaning and x-rays, Dr. Silva proceeded to come and talk with us saying he was highly recommending anesthesia because of the extensive care that was going to be needed. He wanted to extract 2 of my daughters teeth and put spacers in, put caps on 6 other teeth and seal 4 molars. I was a bit shocked, and he graphically explained in front of my 5 year old what he thought the best course of treatment was. Well, anyone that has kids can imagine how this went. She began to cry, was very upset, and I was beyond frustrated. I got up to the front counter and got the quote for what they were wanting to do and was mortified. We have good insurance (dental and medical), but they were saying our part was going to be close to $2,600 after they billed insurance. Their payment plan is a joke, they expected 375.00 just to schedule the next visit (4-6 weeks out, with my daughter having pain), then half down at that visit, and they can split the other half into 2 payments. I was flabbergasted, and told them I was going to have to talk with my husband and get back to them. Needless to say, I sought a second opinion! Not only did the other dentist get us in the next day, she extracted the tooth that was causing my daughter the most pain and laid out a treatment plan for the rest of what she needs done over the next month without putting my daughter under and our part is going to cost less than $400.00. I called to cancel the cleaning with Sweet Tooth they had booked out and let them know we will NEVER be returning! DO NOT COME HERE!
