I have insurance through my husband's work. Insurance is called Sun Life. Back in June of 2024. I scheduled an appointment with one of the very few dentist Dr Joseph Schmidt, that would take the insurance and receive new patients. So I made the appointment for November 20th 2024. Which was the first available on their schedule. Now there was one other dentist ( not many more) that I could have made the appointment with but I chose to go with him because of his reviews. I called a couple of weeks ago to make sure my appointment was still coming up. The young lady that answered the phone said I was still on their schedule. She said nothing about not having the Sun Life insurance plan canceled with their office. So I called the insurance company and ask them to attach this dental office with my insurance so it would be covered. The insurance told me that Dr Schmidt office was no longer under the plan. So I called the office on November 18th and 19th to make sure it was correct, considering I had an appointment on November the 20th.I left numerous messages with the dental office and he finally called me back today November 19th. The doctor himself Joseph said that the insurance company didn't pay out anything and wasn't helping him. I just wanted my teeth cleaned. I ask where that was leaving me? I guess dirt really does roll downhill. I'm glad I called though or that would have been out of pocket. Know telling how much a cleaning is nowadays. Even though I have insurance. I have not had my teeth cleaned in over a year, the dentist doesnt want to clean anyone's teeth unless the insurance pays them out. We pay into insurance but I can't receive a cleaning because very few dentists take the insurance that are receiving new patients and it is a waste of there time and money. Now I get to start all over. What happened to helping people.
