Once again I had a dental emergency ( broken tooth) and once again Lakeside Dental came through with flying colors. They saw me immediately, assessed the situation, referred me to a periodontist, and made the appointment for me that very day— faxing all necessary paperwork. All of this was done with great professionalism, kindness, and compassion.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. However, I have a problem with the policies of the office. If I call my primary care physician because I have the flu, that’s what is treated. I as the patient determine the health service I need. However, at Lakeside Dental, and probably most other dental offices, I am told what will be done at my office visit regardless of what I want and the reason I am there. I do not have any problems with my teeth and I do not need X-rays every year. I’m 71 and I have never even had a cavity, but I would like my teeth cleaned and checked annually. (With X-rays every couple of years) At Lakeside I was told the dentist would not see me if I didn’t have X-rays taken. I had no choice in my dental care and I find that is disappointing and disturbing. I think it’s also somewhat of a scam. No treatment without paying for X-rays, really? Again, I believe that if I book an appointment at a doctor’s office, any type of doctor, the patient should be treated for the problem for which she booked the appointment . I definitely should have been able to make the choice of no X-rays!
