We had such a great experience when I brought my 2 year old daughter here!!! Dr Shaffer made my daughter feel comfortable as it was her first dentist visit ever. She made my daughter a balloon and showed her all the equipment. She let my daughter go up and down repeatedly in the dentist chair as part of a game so that my daughter would feel comfortable. My daughter had a really good experience and will be going back in 6 months. It was so important that we associated good feelings with going to the dentist because my daughter is so young. I am so glad that they played with her and made her feel comfortable. She left the office with a toy duck and dentist coloring book. I am excited to bring her back for her next cleaning. Dr Schafer also found nodules on my neck at my appointment previously when I went in for my cleaning and when I went to have an ultrasound done they said there were nodules on my thyroid that needed to be monitored each year and could develop eventually into cancer so I am so thankful she pointed this out to me.

Dr. Shaffer works solo and is an OK dentist in my experience. But she cannot retain staff as indicated by the constant turn-over of hygienists and dental assistants. The impact on me has been delays of cleaning, last minute schedule changes and interminable waits in her office for my turn. Today, I found out the reason for the large turn-over. I objected to waiting for 30 min as she was chit chatting w her staff and patients. Dr Shaffer blew up and said "we are done here." She kicked me out while I am suffering from a gum abscess. That is "unprofessional" and "uncaring" as a number of other reviewers have indicated. She could have treated me and then kick me out. Her ego is more important to her than her oath to care for patients.AVOID this practice as there are many excellent dental practices in the area.
