After a quick exam, which was 'free,' they let us know we would both needs tons of additional services totaling around $9,000. We left without even getting a basic cleaning because they said we needed a very expensive deep cleaning and took our x-rays to another dentist for a second opinion. The other dentist said everything on our x-rays looked GREAT and we only needed a regular cleaning. Hickory Plaza told my husband he needed a root canal, but the other dentist saw zero signs of any decay on the same x-rays. Apparently the entire staff recently changed over and it is clear they are out to scam people and make money. Do not let them fool you!!"

Please get a second opinion if using Dr. LEE. The staff is amazing here. However, Dr. Lee is not professional or sympathetic to needs. He is in it for money. He scheduled the wrong teeth to be pulled and then asked me what I wanted to do? He never admitted a mistake but just made another appointment to have the right tooth taken out. I had a tooth that the entire bottom was rotted. He told me he kept it to pack it? Huh...that makes no sense. Now I have a misfitted denture cause he would tell me to close my jaw a way I told him it didn't shut. I stayed with them cause I was too far along and a couple thousand in. However I still have an incomplete mouth with unfitted dentures, that now has to start over with a new dentist, who was shocked by condition of dentures and concerns. So please find a dentist who listens and knows the proper way to fit dentures. Instead of just processing you as an item on an assembly line. It has mentally drained me and the confidence I had left. When I mentioned anything to him, he acts surprised and says well its your choice. Yes but you are the dr the expert and you just....I'm crying now so I will end. Just be careful using Dr. Lee

This was by far the worst dentist experience I have ever had. I came to Hickory Plaza Dental Group because they took my insurance, but at this point I would have rather gone somewhere that didn't, because it would have been cheaper and the work would have been better.I was talked into a procedure I didn't want; what I was assured would be 2 visits turned into 5 where I was either completely ignored or actively mocked; every visit was rushed to be finished. I was so unhappy with the final result that I returned to have it fixed only to be sent out the door without the problem addressed, and now months later I have daily pain that I did not have before.I firmly believe that Hickory Plaza Dental Group is not here to help you, but to empty your pockets with as little time and effort as possible. If you're looking for someone in this city who takes Ambetter dental insurance, go ANYWHERE else.
