Gentle Dental Desert Dental Reviews
By far the worst dental experience I've ever had. At every appointment, it feels like I'm being upsold services that I don't actually need, and they are consistently 30-45 minutes behind schedule. The final straw was when glue on my permanent retainer broke off and I called to get an appointment to get it fixed. They scheduled an appointment for me, and then called to say they don't fix retainers (despite being a dentist and orthodontist office), so they cancel my appointment. A few days later, I get a call saying that they actually can fix it, so I schedule an appointment. At that appointment, I go in and the orthodontist tells me that they won't replace the glue on my permanent retainer (something my other dentists have done easily and without hassle) and that they will have to remove it and fit me for a removable retainer, which will cost $750. The orthodontist also told me to not even try and ask other dentists in the area because they won't fix it either. I found this to be very strange but (my bad) fell for it. However, they wouldn't be able to remove the retainer that day, and I needed to schedule another appointment. I arrive for my next appointment to get the retainer removed, and they dentist tells me he doesn't know how to remove a permanent retainer. I am EXTREMELY frustrated at this point. He goes into the back and tells me he actually can remove it and, with a ton of force, pops it out of my mouth and it goes flying across the room. He then asks if the back feels smooth - there is still glue on my teeth, so he attempts to remove it. I am then fitted for a retainer and schedule an appointment two weeks later to pick it up. I arrive to get my retainer, that I have already paid the $750 for, and I sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes while I hear people behind the desk discussing my file. I hear someone say "No one knows what to do with the retainer." I go up to the desk and ask what the delay is and they tell me it'll just be a few minutes longer. I then hear someone say "just take him back to a room for him to wait." SO frustrating. I get back to the room and the dental assistant comes in with my retainer and asks me to try it on. He then says I have to schedule another appointment to come in for the orthodontist to check it. I AM LIVID at this point - why wouldn't they just schedule me with the orthodontist in the first place?? They tell me I can't leave with the retainer and I tell them I am taking it. I go to the front desk to schedule my next appointment and ask why I wasn't scheduled with the orthodontist in the first place and the response is "Since the dentist fitted you for the retainer, he had to check it first." This is a blatant lie because I didn't even see the dentist - only a dental assistant. I have since canceled my remaining appointments and will not be returning and, unfortunately, eating a $750 cost for a retainer that doesn't fit. I sent this concern to the dental office directly, with no response, so that's why it is now coming to Google. I wouldn't recommend this practice to anyone.

Nov 27, 2024 · Bruce EmeryGentle Dental definitely lived up to their name. I needed a crown and some additional services to get up to date with my teeth. Every person I interacted with was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I was walked through how each service would be performed which elevated my overall comfort level with the services I received. The dentist - Dr. Jai was terrific with a good sense of humor and again walked me through everything step by step. I have had several bad experiences in the past with other dental practices so it was so refreshing to find a practice that really went above and beyond to make my experience seamless and comfortable. Thank you to everyone in the Palm Springs office.
Dec 10, 2024 · Dennis GoodineI recently started going to this dental office and I have been very impressed so far! The front desk is always staffed with team members who are able to answer my questions easily. The dentist, hygienist, and assistants have all been a pleasure to work with. I was able to ask as many questions as I wanted, and the providers took the time to answer all of them and were highly knowledgeable. I can't comment on the financial side as I only had my exam and cleaning, but it seems that the staff could answer any questions I had about my insurance if needed. I recommend this dental office to anyone new to Palm Springs or searching for a new dental provider.
Sep 24, 2024 · jeremy wollerI've been impressed with the quality of service at this dental office for several years. My dental cleaning this morning was no exception. The hygienist was very professional, and knowledgeable. He also explained every step of the procedure. It was actually educational too.
