The following information is based on a detailed review from one individual who was a patient of Dr. Viagrande in 2006. This review describes a series of complications and issues experienced by the patient over several years following root canal treatments and the placement of crowns on two lower right molars.
According to the review, during the root canal treatment of the first tooth, a drill broke in the canal and could not be removed by Dr. Viagrande or a specialist. The decision was made to leave the broken drill fragment and proceed with placing a crown. The second tooth's treatment was reportedly easier.
Over the subsequent nine years, the patient experienced discomfort and pulsations. In 2015, a new dentist diagnosed an infection around the first tooth, which had to be extracted and replaced with an implant. The extraction revealed the broken drill and a micro crack in the canal.
Around 2018, the crown on the second treated tooth began to turn black. In 2023, another dentist replaced this crown and discovered a large amount of cotton wool inside the tooth instead of a filling. The patient stated that they paid $5500 for the treatment of these two teeth in 2006 and experienced problems with both.
The review concludes with the patient expressing significant stress, wasted time, effort, and money due to these dental issues. The review also includes a seemingly contradictory short statement: "Dentist recommended and very good." However, given the extensive negative account, the context suggests this may not reflect the overall experience described.
Based solely on this detailed patient review found online, there are significant concerns raised regarding the treatment received at Dr. Richard Viagrande's office in 2006 and the long-term consequences experienced by this patient. Dr. Richard Viagrande Reviews
In 2006, I was a patient at the dentist's office, Richard Viagrande. After the diagnosis of the two lower right molars, a diagnosis was made. Both teeth needed root canal treatment and crowns were to be placed. At first I didn't agree to crowns but to rebuild my teeth. But that's okay. They started root canal treatment of the first tooth and immediately the drill broke in my canal. They tried to remove the drill without success. I was sent to a specialist who also tried to remove the drill but without success.Richard Viagrande decided to leave the drill and install the crown. The second tooth was apparently easier.Shortly after completing the treatment of these two teeth, for the next few years I did not feel any pain, but discomfort, sometimes some pulsations.Nine years after treatment in 2015, the discomfort became more and more severe. I went to another dentist and he found that there was an infection around the first tooth that was treated in 2006. The dentist decided that it should be extracted. When he managed to extract the entire tooth, he noticed a broken drill and a micro crack in the canal. I replaced it with an implant. .But I still felt a little discomfort from time to time over the next few years.Around the second tooth, which was treated with a root canal and then Korina, installed in 2006, it started to turn black sometime in 2018.In 2023, another dentist proposed replacing this black crown with a new one. When the dentist took out the old crown and found a large amount of cotton wool inside the tooth. My tooth was not filled with a filling, but the dentist Richard Viagrande inserted cotton wool and placed a crown on the empty tooth. In 2006 I paid $5500.00 for these two teeth and there was a problem with both teeth.Dentist recommended and very goodSo much stress, time, work and money wasted. All I could do was cry.
